"All politics is local politics"

This is quite a loaded statement and can have many interpretations that all point towards the same idea: how does this affect me?

I may be creating new words here but I believe the same concepts of macro and micro economics apply to politics. You have macro-politics and micro-politics. Local, focused economies are what cumulatively impact the worldwide dynamics of the economy but those micro economies are influenced by the macro economic forces they operate within. I believe the same concept applies to how the federal level politics influence local politics while the local politics are what make up and determine the federal political climate.
