You've probably heard the statement, "You can't believe everything you read in newspapers or see on TV." What does that statement mean to you? Please write about all of this on your blog.
Unfortunately, many do but it is true you cannot believe everything you read in newspapers, see on TV, read on the internet, or hear from other people especially since other people are probably regurgitating what they have see or heard from the sources mentioned above. There are so many examples of this that its hard to narrow it down to a few but they can range from as small as a misunderstanding about why an aircraft ran off a runway to a full blown conspiracy theory about September 11 being an inside job. I am a firm believe that the media has a responsibility to check their facts and maintain objectivity but this does not always happen. Therefore the general public must rely on reason and make sure to have multiple sources of information. Therefore, even if a person cannot know the objective truth behind an idea, event, or action, they can at least know what they do not know for sure.
